Holy Isle & Lamlash Bay
From £175.00

What to expect
An Introduction to Sea Kayaking weekend with a unique experience of staying on the sacred Holy Isle in the Centre for World Peace, where you will receive a warm welcome from the resident Tibetan Buddhist monks.  We will spend our time in and around the sheltered waters of Lamlash Bay and the Holy Isle where you will learn the fundamentals of kayaking with the support of a qualified coach.  We will also have an opportunity to stretch the legs by climbing to the top of the Holy Isle itself.   With a spot height of 314 meters, it offers stunning view of Arran's ridges and the Clyde.  The Holy Isle is also a nature reserve with wild Eriskay ponies, Saanen goats and Soay sheep.

Suitability / Grading: Easy
This two day trip is designed with the beginner in mind, where no kayaking experience is necessary.

What's included
One night's accommodation, dinner on Saturday & breakfast and lunch on Sunday. We supply participants with a kayak, a paddle and all specialist equipment from wetsuit to cagoules.  We also supply a personal flotation device, which should be worn at all times on the water.  All meals on this trip are vegetarian and are included in the cost.  Waterproof bags will be supplied to keep all your personal equipment dry.

Additional Information
This course is designed with the beginner in mind and the route and time spent on the water will reflect this.  Kayaking is a water-based activity and there is the possibility of getting wet or even submerged.  All participants must be confident in the water and wear the personal flotation device supplied by us whilst on the water.  Waterproof cameras can be purchased from the Adventure Centre shop.  All sessions are determined by the weather and tidal conditions and the route is subject to change at short notice.
