What to expect
This day-long tour of the spectacular north coast of the island offers a truly unique and memorable experience. This trip is aimed at those who have tried kayaking before and are nurturing a sense of adventure. The remote north east coastline of Arran between Sannox Bay and Lochranza has no roads, making it accessible only by foot or boat. Sightings of golden eagles, seals and porpoise are a real possibility.
Suitability / Grading: Moderate
This trip is designed for those of you who have had a few days kayaking experience. We will be paddling around 15km, so an reasonable level of fitness is required. This trip is not suitable for children or younger teenagers. Check out Full Day Family Tour.
What we supply
We supply participants with a kayak, a paddle and all specialist equipment from wetsuit to cagoules. We also supply a personal flotation device, which we will wear whilst on the water. We have a selection of wetsuit socks to keep your feet extra warm. We also offer a packed lunch and warm drink. Please advise any special dietary requirements.
What to bring with you
Please bring along swimwear to wear under the wet suit, as well as a towel. We recommend you bring along a pair of shoes you don't mind getting wet, an extra jumper/waterproof jacket, a bottle of water and sun hat/lotion. Please supplement your packed lunch with additional food or water, as you wish.
Additional Information
Kayaking is a water-based activity and there is the possibility of getting wet or even submerged. All participants must be water confident and will wear the personal flotation device we supply whilst on the water. Waterproof cameras are available for sale at the Adventure Centre shop.
